Equip and connect congregations to make disciples of Jesus Christ.

The purpose of the Great Plains United Methodist Conference is to equip and connect congregations to make disciples of Jesus Christ.  The conference’s missional priorities provide focus to our current context for ministry. As our context changes, so will our missional priorities. Read more below or click on links in the left navigation to explore our ministries.

Our Staff

Congregations and conference staff will be actively engaged in these priorities outlined in the Plan of Organization. Staff will be responsible for equipping and connecting congregations for greater disciple-making. Staff is organized into five main areas:

Missional Priorities

Staff will work toward the missional priorities of the conference:

  • Enhancing the ministry of local churches
  • Starting new churches
  • Developing lay and clergy leaders
  • Strengthening global mission partnerships

These priorities will be lifted up by each staffing area to equip and connect congregations to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Our Shared Ministries

Our combined ministry efforts make a positive impact in our communities, in our two states, and in the world. While disciples are not made at the conference level, the conference’s job is to equip churches so they can do the Lord’s work by loving boldly, serving joyfully and leading courageously. And your mission shares help make that possible!
