Merna Greer, 95; retired diaconal minister and widow of retired clergy. Born March 3, 1930; died June 19, 2025.
She married J. Waldo Greer on May 29, 1949. He served former Nebraska Conference churches in Rushville-Clinton, Utica-Tamora, Omaha St. Andrew's, Clay Center-Union, Shickley-Bruning, Beatrice-Ellis and the Beatrice State Developmental Center. He died Dec. 6, 2001.
In addition, Merna Greer served as a diaconal minister in the former Fairbury UMC.
Survivors include her children, Dale Greer, Donald (Eldene Doyle) Greer and Janice Greer DeHaven; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at Beatrice Centenary UMC, preceded at 10:45 by a family prayer service. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel, Beatrice.
