Rev. Marion Knoell, 90; retired Great Plains Conference clergy. Born Sept. 16, 1934; died Jan. 21, 2025.
A graduate of Westmar College in Le Mars, Iowa, and Saint Paul School of Theology, he served former Nebraska Conference churches in Bartlett-Erickson, Wilbur-Clatonia, Grant, Madrid, Superior, Tekamah, Decatur, O'Neill and Inman, and in Denison in the former Kansas East Conference. After his retirement, he served as chaplain at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha from 1997 to 2019.
He married Janet Marks on June 5, 1956. She survives, as well as children Becky (Bruce) Aurand,, Karen (Del) Stallwood,, Kevin (Jennifer) Knoell, and Brian Knoell; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Fremont Calvary UMC. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont.
Memorials are suggested to Calvary United Methodist Church or First United Methodist Church both in Fremont.
