Rev. Gordon Tasker, 94; retired Great Plains conference pastor. Born July 10, 1930; died April 26, 2025.
A veteran of 18 months in the U.S. Army, Tasker graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1958. He served former Kansas West Conference churches in Kensington-Agra, Glasco-Simpson, Kiowa, Leoti and Wichita Pleasant Valley, retiring after serving Kingman in 1997.
He married Jo Ann Bullock on June 5, 1954. She survives, as well as sons Keith Tasker (Kellie), Dave Tasker (Leigh Ann), Paul Tasker and Steve Tasker (Sarah); 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Winfield First UMC. Visitation will be from 1-1:45 p.m. that day at the church. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Winfield or Camp Horizon. Donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
