Rev. Dillon Hess, 97; retired Great Plains Conference clergy. Born July 23, 1928; died Dec. 2, 2025.
He served as pastor for numerous churches in the former Nebraska Conference, including Mayfield-Wellfleet, Lincoln Lakeview, Hopewell-Crab Orchard, Lyons, Neligh-Clearwater, Lexington, Franklin-Bloomington, Franklin-Macon, Beaver Crossing-Salem and Shelby. He retired in 1992.
He and his wife, Maudie, were married Sept. 21, 1951. She preceded him in death on Aug. 1, 2021.
Survivors include his children, Terry (Laura) Hess, Sharon (Jeff) Schweer, Marsha Grafton and daughter-in-law Nellie Hess; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Norfolk Westridge UMC. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, also at the church.
