Fremont First UMC sought a Children's Ministry Intern with innovative ideas and fresh perspectives to enrich their dynamic program as part of a grant application initiative. It also served as a mentorship relationship for a young female potential clergy.

"You Are Called" Retreat to explore with youth and adults what it means to be Called by God. The original proposal was that the retreat would be either 2-3 day event.

Break the Stigma, is a youth-led group focused on making mental illness an easier subject to talk about.

The project involved creating a space for a high school Senior to serve as our Congregational Care Intern for 28 hours a month who explored her gifts for pastoral ministry and participated in the continuum of spiritual and mental health care for children, youth and adults.

Stull United Methodist Church applied for a Culture of Call grant to foster the gifts of music ministry.

United Methodist Campus Ministry at Emporia State University encourages students to explore their call, despite the changes brought on by COVID-19.

Sedan UMC in Sedan, KS, offers music classes for children and youth, nurturing participants as disciples who share their faith through their musical gifts.

This grant was for an internship for a young person to explore church ministry.

We explored uniting the youth of the African Nation congregation that worships in our building with the youth group of St. Paul. Joint leadership was provided by myself and a sponsor from the African Congregation.

United Methodist Campus Ministry at Washburn University paired students with mentors who met 1-on-1 and as a group, focusing on personal and theological reflection. Participants were introduced to the Enneagram to better understand their personality and gifts in connection with living into God's call. The meetings were affected by COVID-19.

Confirmation classes and retreat for Santa Fe Trail Parish youth. Santa Fe Trail Parish consists of Council Grove Dunlap UMC, Wilsey UMC, Dwight UMC, White City UMC, Alta Vista Simpson UMC.

Nebraska Wesleyan University expands mentoring and leadership opportunities for students to nurture and explore the call to servant leadership.

Lawrence First UMC offered an internship to empower a young woman to explore her call while mentoring young adults as they discover their own spiritual gifts.

College Avenue UMC in Manhattan, KS, offered overnight retreats for post-confirmation youth and one for senior high. The retreats focused on calling.

Horizons Community UMC in Lincoln creates mentoring relationships between church staff and kids/youth who have felt called to ministry.

Laurel United Methodist Church in Nebraska has received the spring Culture of Call grant. A Lead2Lead Initiative for Dawson UMC in Wichita, Kansas, is proposed and reported by Amy Foster. The work of the project is to give youth an opportunity to explore and utilize their gifts for both life and ministry. The work of the project is to develop a multi-generational Christian Confirmation experience resulting in professions of faith, more committed disciples, and a reigniting of youth group in our church. The work of the project is to create an internship experience that allows middle school and high school youth to discern their gifts and graces as they relate to the ministries and work of the UMC. A ministerial Internship project for Lenexa UMC in Lenexa, Kansas is proposed and reported by Tyler Kaufmann. The work of the project is empowering a young clergy person to explore the call of mentoring by facilitating a ministerial internship that enables a young adult to explore their calling. A small group project for Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska is proposed and reported by H. Eduardo Bousson. The work of the project is to provide guided assistance to Nebraska Wesleyan students who might be discerning their call to ordained ministry, and/or ministry as a profession. A scholarship program for Southwestern College's Amp It Up youth praise band camp is proposed and reported by Martin Rude. The work of the project is to provide registration fees for 6 minority youth to attend Amp It Up. Contact [email protected]

A pastoral internship project for Tonganoxie UMC in Tonganoxie, Kansas, is proposed and reported by Bill Gepford. The work of the project is to provide two young people exploring their call to ministry. The work of the project is a monthly brunch as part of our Sunday service in conjunction with a 12-week sermon series.
