Chuck Kallaus

Charles F. (Chuck) Kallaus Jr., 89; retired Great Plains Conference pastor. Born March 25, 1935; died Jan. 3. 2025.

After running an auction house, Kallaus became a United Methodist pastor in 1978, and in 1982 began Wesley House in Pittsburg with his wife, Caryl.

He retired from the Kansas East Conference in 2007, but continued to serve churches in LaCygne-New Lancaster, Altoona-Buffalo-High Prairie, Cherokee-St. Paul-Weir and McCune-West Mineral.

Caryl preceded him in death in 20121.

Survivors include four daughters, Karen (Tom) Johnson, Kathy Kallaus, Karla (Rod) Pulliam and Kristen (Butch) Buckley; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Cherokee Storm Shelter, 106 W. Cedar, Cherokee. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Open Door Fellowship, Pittsburg.
